SoCraftastic is so adorable and she has such awesome little videos. When I saw this one I haaaad to try it out, especially since I had so much fun making an envelope wallet. Unfortunately, the stores that are within walking distance of me do NOT have pretty coloured duct tape and I didn't feel like taking a trip to the mall just to buy some from Target. So, I decided, for my first wallet I would just have to work with what I had. Which was regular duct tape, clear packing tape, and deco Chococat tape that I've had since 2008 (apparently, according to the copyright...seems about right).
I was pretty proud of myself while doing this. I followed SoCraftastic's tutorial as close as possible because it was such a great design and I wanted to make sure I did it as well as I could.
My favorite part was the clear ID holder because I felt I did a pretty good job making sure I didn't catch any air bubbles or crinkle it. Yeeeeeah. Go me. Haha.
Overall though, this has been probably my least favourite project. Not because it's a bad project--because it WAS fun and like I said--the design So Craftastic lays out is really nice. I think the reason I dislike it is because of the ugly duct tape colour...boooo....I did find that sharpie markers take pretty well to duct tape and don't wash off...but only the black ones show up nicely, in my opinion. I'm so going to do this project over again when I have some more attractive materials to work with :) (Although, no wallet I make can ever replace the awesome red leather wallet I bought while in Italy. Nope. Just not gonna happen)
